The 2008 North Florida Hispanic Association celebrates the North Florida Hispanic Festival at St. Louis Catholic Church, 3640 Fred George Road, Tallahassee, FL 32303 (Corner of Fred George and Old Bainbridge Road) from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. (The map below shows the location marked by the "A").
The North Florida Hispanic Association, Inc. was established in 1993 to bring Tallahassee's Hispanic Community together. With members originating from such countries as Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and Argentina (to name a few), this organization seeks to keep the Spanish speaking culture alive in this community through a yearly festival, a quarterly Spanish-language newsletter, La Gaceta Hispana, Hispanic Festival, social gatherings at Forestmeadows Park, and sharing of food, recipes from Hispanic cuisine, music, folklore and other traditions. The Association is open to all Hispanics and non-Hispanics who have an interest in the music, arts and traditions of the Spanish-speaking countries. The North Florida Hispanic Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization.

4th Annual Experience Asia 2008 Festival to be Held at The Asian Coalition of Tallahassee (ACT) is holding the fourth Annual Experience Asia 2008 Festival on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Bloxham-Lewis Parks in Downtown Tallahassee between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. During the last three years the Experience Asia Festival has grown from an event attended by a few hundred people to last year's crowd of over 10,000. It has also become the third most attended out-door event in Tallahassee. During last year’s festival, professional artists from Tampa and abroad came and performed several pieces.
This year the festival will feature local performers representing Asian countries like China, India, the Philippines, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Pakistan, and the United States. There will be exhibitors from both for-profit and non-profit organizations like Jenny's Accessories and Kineasthetics and food vendors representing Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Korean cuisines and booths representing organizations like Indian Association of Tallahassee, Big Bend Filipino-American Association, FSU-International Center, Tallahassee Families with Asian Children, and Chinese Association of Tallahassee, and others. The festival will also feature a demonstration stage where experts from various martial arts, folk arts, Tai-Chi and Falun Gong will show and explain their art forms.
Tuesday, July 15, 2008: ZumbaJunkie.com did Zumba Demos at the Florida Department of Revenue's Health and Safety Fair: 2008 Tax World Benefit Fair, 5050 West Tennessee Street (Courtyard) - Hours: 11:00 am to 2:00pm. Instructors Sue Tucker and Randy Baez wowed the crowd with
their Zumba routines. The first
demo started at 11:00 am and the second demo started at 1:00 pm. More Zumba demos were performed on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Southwood Fair, 10:00 am to 2:00pm (near Shusters Cafe), 4050 Espanade Way. The first Zumba demo was at 11:00 am and the second demo started at 1:00pm.

Tallahassee Springtime Festival - March 29, 2008 - 10:30 am -- ZumbaJunkie.com has a float for the parade. The staging area will be in front of Decent Pizza, which is on the corner of N. Monore and 4th. We will be there around 8:00 am to decorate the float. We must have the
float ready by 9:00 am for judging. We want all our Zumbajunkie instructors and students to help out. The
float rules are. Kids 6-11 can ride on the float. They will hand beads and key chains to the older kids. Kids 12 and up can walk beside the float and hand stuff out. We need our junkies dancing behind the float!!! We are going to be walking/dancing through the whole parade. We will have our sound system set up. Please try to be there by 9:00 am if you will be helping us!!!
Join us as we celebrate 40 years of Springtime Tallahassee! Welcome! Springtime Tallahassee produces one of the largest festivals in the Southeast and is voted one of the top 20 Events in Florida. The festival inlcudes a Parade with over 70,000 participants, Jubilee in the Park featuring hand crafted items,
a Children's
Park, four local entertainment stages, and national entertainment acts. The festival brings over 200,000 visitors to the Tallahassee area. The parade beings at the intersection of Monroe Street and Thomasville Road and travels south on Monroe Street past the Florida Capitol ending at Gaines Street.
The Springtime Tallahassee Festival has a positive impact on the Tallahassee/Leon County area. During the festival weekend, over 75 jobs are positively
effected through the generation of $839,000 worth of wages paid to employees servicing our visitors. Over five million visitor dollars are spent in the area during the weekend. Zumbajunkie.com Instructors will be hosting 2 Zumba Demos for the American Cancer Society - Relay for Life. Demos will be performed at the FAMU Track at 4:30 pm and TCC at 10:00 pm. Show your Zumba Love by joining these instructors on stage or in the audience.

February 23, 2008 @ 4:00 pm - Forrest Meadows. Join Randy for an all Zumba Class En Español. She is going to teach Zumba and speak in Spanish. If you want to learn new fitness routines and have fun,
be there on Saturday and join other Junkies. Only ($5) to attend class. Randy hopes to see you in her class.

January 26, 2008 (Saturday) - Tallahassee FItness Festival (Talllahassee Civic Center): Leon County Civic Center, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM Tug-o-War competition | 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Festival Doors Open at 9:00 AM - $5 Admission | FREE
(Children Under Age 12). A one day opportunity to experience the latest exercise classes, home
gym equipment, and health and nutrition products. Guests will also have the
opportunity to learn about health and nutrition through "power"
presentations by industry experts. Over 150 local and national vendors will
conduct FREE health screenings, provide FREE health and fitness information andFREE product sa
mples. Valuable door prizes will be awarded every 30 minutes. An interactive Kids Korner will provide activities tailored to children
under the age of 12. The event will kick-off with a Tug-O-War competition. The team competition will include three segments: Women, Men and Co-ed. The wining team
in each segment will win cash and prizes. TheTallahassee and surrounding community
will have the opportunity to recognize the best local fitness and health care
professionals by voting online for The FIT Awards. The FIT Award will be
provided to those who exemplify Fitness, Inspiration and Training within their
respective profession. The Tallahassee Fitness Festival will expose guests to a genre of
physical activities, health and nutrition options, and information that will
improve their quality of life.
Sue and Randy will both receive awards (Randy for Best New Instructor and Sue for Best Dance Instructor). Randy and Sue will each be presenting a 20 minute demonstration of Zumba and will be answering questions. Randy is scheduled to perform at 10:30 am and Sue will be on at 1:30 pm. Sue will be selling Zumba Gear and raffling a few items. Both Instructors are looking for volunteers to assist
them
on
stage. If you are interested in participating, please contact them before the event.
